FAULTY ITEM? 10 THINGS TO AVOID
Avoid contact with water an hour or 2 after application
We recommend applying them before going to bed to ensure they are not exposed to any activities or water.
Prevent applying on cuticle skin
Applying close to or on cuticle skin and to the edges of the nail can cause the gel strip to lift on the sides and eventually fall off.
Prevent applying the strips on oily nails
Wash your hands with soap and clean the nails using acetone before applying. This way, you ensure the nails are completely dry and oil-free.
Do not stretch the gel strips excessively
Although gel nail strips can be stretched to fit the nails properly, stretching them too much can distort their design or make the glue less effective.
The bed of your nail is uneven
If this is the case, especially after using a real gel manicure, the nails may be quite damaged and uneven. Make sure to smooth your nail bed gently to even out the surface.
Do not let the gel strips be longer than your natural nail length
Make sure the gel strips are precisely trimmed and filed to the edge of your natural nails and not longer, as they could peel off more easily.
Avoid opening the packaging under direct sunlight.
Gel strips become less stretchy and flexible after being exposed to the sun. The hardening of the strips will depend on how long they were exposed to sunlight. This may affect their effectiveness in sticking to the nail and, thus, their longevity.
Make sure to apply your gel strips indoor, away from direct sunlight.
Make sure you cure your nails long enough
We recommend 1 to 2 minutes of curing time using our UV/LED Lamp, but the best way to know if the gel is completely cured is to press on it with the tip of the wooden cuticle stick given in the packaging. If it leaves a mark on the strips, it means you need to cure it a bit more!
Don't moisturise your nails before application
Your hands and nails should be completely oil-free and dry.
Refrain from biting or frequently touching your nails
This definitely contributes to the gel strips falling off faster.
